Sustainable Swimwear Fabric Trends 2026: Recycled Polyamide and Renewable LYCRA Fiber
Sustainable fabrics have moved from pitch decks to production lines. Italian swim brand arena launched its Bold Lines collection in October; every style uses WaterFeel Eco, a comfort-stretch fabric with 80 percent recycled polyamide sourced from recovered yarns and industrial waste. The brand is also expanding its partnership with The LYCRA Company: renewable LYCRA fiber carries 70 percent renewable content, USDA BioPreferred certification, and up to 45 percent lower carbon footprint, according to a 2026 life-cycle assessment.
For overseas brands and e-commerce sellers, recycled, certified fabrics are now a baseline requirement in Western markets, not a premium upsell. Xihong Apparel already produces swimwear with recycled and eco-friendly fabrics, so brands can meet these requirements without redesigning their supply chain.
